Time to introduce the team for Open Set, day 2 – director Lisa James Larsson and cinematographer Andres Rignell, FSF!

 

In October 2008 Larsson completed her graduation film ‘Pussyfooting’, which has screened at festivals all over the world and received the jury award at Young Cinema Art: World Student Film Festival in Poland.

Her work also includes ‘Little children, big words’ (2010), which premiered at Palm Springs International short fest in June 2010. The film won ‘best short film’ at Valladolid film festival in November 2010, resulting in a nomination for best short film at the European Film Awards 2011. It has since then won 20 awards at film festivals worldwide, and was shortlisted for an Oscar nomination at the Academy Awards 2011. Autumn 2011 she made the short film ‘Life, Lust & Longing’ produced by Bob Film Sweden, which premiered at Göteborg Film Festival​ in Feb 2012 and was aired on SVT​ in summer 2012.

Larsson’s debut feature ‘Ego’ was released in 2013, and her most recent film is Tsatsiki, Farsan & Olivkriget​ (2015). To see more of her work, visit her website here.

 

Rignell’s portfolio includes feature films Psalm 21 (2009) and Kommissarie Späck (2010), a parody of Beck, a crime drama, which has earned great success on the North European market. He is also know for his work with commercials, trailers and music videos in various genres. Shooting commercials for multi-national brands like Ericsson, Volvo, Bosch, Nokia and Samsung, has taken him all over Europe, the Middle East and the U.S.

His cinematography skills have kept him busy shooting trailers for all major Swedish TV networks, and he has more than 80 music videos on his CV, and has worked with artists such as Haddaway​, Dr Alban Official​, Michaela de la Cour, Eskobar Official​, Marie Serneholt​, Eric Gadd​, Hammerfall​ Eric Saade​ and Darin​.

He is also a winner of the jury’s special prize in the Nordic/Baltic film festival Vision of Light 2000. Rignell’s latest short movie “Kära pappa (Dear Dad)” is a viral sucess. Watch it here!

Let us introduce the team for Open Set day 1 – director Kicki Kjellin and cinematographer Ragna Jorming, FSF!

Kjellin is best known for her work with a number of tv series such as “Svaleskär”, “Lite som du” and “Spung”. Besides that, she also directed the comedy “Kärlek deluxe”.

 

Some of Jorming’s previous work include titles like Återträffen (10 wins and 6 nominations) and With every heartbeat (3 wins and 2 nominations), and tv series such as Piratskattens hemlighet and Familjen Holstein-Gottorp.

In 2011, Jorming was nominated in the category Best cinematographer – debut at Camerimage Festival​ for her work on With every heartbeat. Her most recent film, ‘Girls lost (Pojkarna)’ will be screened at Göteborg Film Festival​ 2016.

Come join the audience for Open Set, where you have the chance to ask all your questions to the film crew, while watching a film being shot!

The script for Open Set 2016 is inspired by a scene from Calles nya underkläder, a silent movie from 1916 by Georg af Klercker, and we will reveal the cinematographers & directors for this year’s event the following two days!

Startsladden award at GoKinema

Gothenburg Studios is a major contributor to the Startsladden award 2016, and will also host the following industry party.

Startsladden is Göteborg Film Festival’s short film competition, and also one of the world’s biggest short film awards. The award consists of film equipment and a cash prize with a total value of around 500 000 SEK.

With an input of resources equal to 300 000 SEK, Gothenburg Studios is a major contributor to this year’s award.

The Startsladden evening will be crowned by a grand celebration at Gothenburg Studios during GoKinema, including the announcement of the Audience Award.
